FYI just booked a TPEBKK flight, and got the upgrade to business. Now I am so hyped since got a notification they change the airplane, from their (super nice) A321neo to the.A350! I do hope it stays like this until departure (December), looking forward to try their long haul hard product!

I finally tried SQ lounge at TPE. Man, that is THE BEST lounge at T2. Not the biggest, but real windows looking outside, better food than BR and quiet

It really says something when a minor outport station of a regional competitor (in this case SQ) is better than the home base lounges of the Taiwan carriers at TPE.

Minor airport but outpost of an airline often considered the worlds best airline though
No excuse the home lounges should be the best but I wonder if this ties in to actual passenger use?
Local Taiwanese may arrive just before their flight as late as possible and thus wouldn’t use the lounge and most Taiwanese being pretty frugal would be flying economy class and thus would not use the lounge
And most transit passengers would tend to be other Asians also travelling economy so the lounge use may actually be limited
Thus the number of biz class transsitters may actually be limited
I could be wrong though
Mate, J class on TW airlines are mostly full, especially long haul. TW travelers are frugal only in eating cheap Chinese food or asking for discounts, they love their lounges and biz class.

I’m sure they are full but you think they are mostly locals ? And would they go early to use the lounge?
I guess they would considering it’s FREE
How come the Taiwanese customers don’t speak up about the lounges ? Taiwanese are expert complainers 
I swear the entire reason my wife is a mileage hound is just for lounge access.

Singapore Airlines lounge was build when they more flights, now Scoot gets most of the Singapore-Taipei passengers. I used it last time when flying United Airlines, in KIA I wonder which lounge they will use (China seems best at KIA). Also flew ITA, and it was nice ( Fiumicino), I want visit the one at Linate as the design looks interesting.
