I’m waiting for my flight here at CKS Airport (yes, that’s what I still call it), and am pleased to find it has free wireless access! I’m posting through it right now.
Roaming through the states these last few weeks has seen wireless at Seatac, Portland, Orange County and SF airports.
HK, supposedly.
I couldn’t get on, but then again I think that was the ITs at work. I’m moving to fire one tomorrow. it’s a fair cop. Filthy cant’s!
If you are viewing this, madam IT, let me be the first to tell you that your days are fecking numbered.

Last year I found free wireless at Peoria Airport. Yeah, not a place Forumosans are likely to be…
Song Shan airport (at least one of the restaurant on the ground level offers it).
Las Vegas and Phoenix both have free wireless.

HA!!!
I was walking through HK airport last week and saw the sign re free wireless internet access, so I pulled out my laptop to see if it was true and
I
, who am definitely not a techie, got it to work. Like the OP, I too thought it was pretty cool.
HG: be sure to click on the wireless internet button on your computer.
Hey! It was the tech witch that set up that damned box and packed me off to Taipei. The disaster at HK airport was a portend for the big crash that followed a day later and why I’ll never, but never, borrow a work computer again, and indeed why I’ve just bought a Macbook. But its okay, she read my message about firing her and today has been 100% lickety split.

KIX Airport in Osaka has free wireless internet in the terminal, but the strange thing is that there is none in the business class lounge! Usually there is free WiFi in the Biz Class lounge and none outside which is the case in Detroit and BWI.
The McDonald’s in the Shenzhen airport not only has the only reasonably priced food in the airport, but also free wi-fi.
Singapore’s Changi airport somehow has free wifi on arrival before immigration and maybe before customs (they run you past a bunch of shops in between). Departure terminals are pay only, but the rates looked pretty reasonable compared to what I’ve seen/paid in the states, something around S$6 (NT$120) per hour. The Departure terminals do have free internet kiosks with a 15-minute limit though.
It often surprises me that many major international airports like SFO have no free wireless, yet rinky-dink airports like Peoria do.

Therefore, they know it is best idea to make money from the internet and not offer it for free, especially with people like those in that area, it is a vital service like food. They will pay for it.
abu dhabi airport has free wireless
Free wireless internet at Hong Kong International! I’m posting this message through it now!
whats the network name? heading out there in a few days and might get stuck at the airport for a few hours
