Alligators loose in Pingtung

:astonished:
Several alligators have been found in the rivers of Pingtung. Apparentl;y, they come from a nearby farm and got away during the typhoon floods. Now, I’ve heard of ducks or pigs getting out during floods, but who … oh, rats. :loco:

This is a bit of a grave dig to find someplace this would fit.

You do know Wandan is twinned with Mar-a-Largo

OK that is about twelve steps too far.

They have alligator farms in Taiwan? For what purpose? Hides or something that improves some men’s libidos?
Regarding the Caiman, no mention of why or how it got there.

Probably done by an immigrant

It’s from the petting zoo for naughty kids.

Question: how in the living Buddha 's name is a caiman allowed as a pet?!?! :noway:

For ramen, I understand. But as a pet?!?!

When I lived in a small town in Tainan county, here was one place that sold crocodile meat. I don’t know if it’s still common in Taiwan.

The one I saw in chaozhou, the crocodiles are used for waste disposal, then the meat, leather etc are sold as additional products

Can be bought. Not expensive. A handful of friends in pingtung also keep various species. Almost certainly pet industry escapes or accidental breeding and release.

Ironically the only real issue in getting them is due to CITES, not their possible danger.
