AMD vs Intel, who takes the cake?

In such a transit friendly country, why is half of it parking?

Because fabs run 24/7, but public transit doesn’t.

Magdeburg is in the middle between Berlin and Hanover. That is where many workers will probably live. German railway is unreliable and not so cheap means of transport going to work.
By car it is ca. 1,5h commute.

Yes it does…

Maybe some, but definitely not “many”. Do people in Bremen commute to Hamburg daily because they are about the same distance away as Magdeburg and Berlin? I think it’s already impressive when someone living in Hamburg commutes to Ahrensburg everyday.

People who don’t own a house can move cities for work.

My father did for 10 years after company moved and it became 1,5h commute instead of 20 min.
The company later moved to a location 4h commute away. He couldn’t move away that far due to house and family and early retired with a big severance package.

On average commute in Germany is like 45min. 1,5h is a lot but doable.

In Taiwan I drive a car ca. 30 min. to work daily. Scooter takes 40+min and public transport 1h+. I am planning to use an electric scooter soon. But weather is an issue on such long commute with a scooter (and driving a scooter is very dangerous in Taiwan).

Much respect. That would probably kill my back in about 1 year.

AMD catching up.
