Fascinating, crazy (and heart wrenching) story. This is like every western Dad’s worst nightmare, but x10.
Strange how the news reports in so much detail only one side of a long complex relationship story.
I usually look for both sides too, but in this case the other side better have a hell of a cover story to make up for how bad she looks from this article. Abducted children is hard to spin.
“Ariel Azoulay, 38, was born in Ashkelon Israel, but his family moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina when he was one and a half years old. At the age of 16, his family immigrated to the U.S., where he has lived since, becoming a naturalized citizen in 2010 at the age of 27.”
Interesting. What did he have for dinner?
Hope he gets custody back .
Is it normal for the police to get involved like they did so soon with a foreigner involved?
Reads more like a list of bullet points about what happened, rather than a coherent story to me.
I don’t know what’s normal, according to the article he got help from the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), the Israeli consulate, and the Taiwan representative office in Miami to obtain a special COVID-19 visa. I’m assuming at least one them also have put some pressure at the police to help him in Taiwan. Also he has two lawyers, that’s always better than one.
Whatever they work out I hope it will be the best solution for the kid, not necessarily the parents.
That guy should have filed for divorce, full custody, and passport resrictions, back in 2019 if not sooner. I don’t like to place blame on the guy, but he shouldn’t have let this go on for so long.
