Bills Pats turned out to be a great one!

Birds are getting turned inside out by the Giants, something I never expected to see this season.

Jaxson Dart is making a night and day difference, did not see that coming. He looks like he was surfing off Huntington Beach this afternoon and just flew in to destroy Philly this evening. Giants fans are delirious. Good times.

They have something with Skattebo too

I love the way that guy plays, he runs hard.

You maybe saw the game, but if you didn’t at one point in the 3rd(?) quarter Dart got crunched by two Philly defenders and had to be helped up. They took him to the blue medical tent to do field-level check for concussion. Skattebo stops by, then walks into the tent … and promptly gets pushed out by somebody inside wearing a suit. Later Dart is seen peeking out of the tent, yelling encouragement for Russell Wilson (Dart went back into the game on the next series). Classic team behavior, the kind of thing every Giants fan loves to see and every fan of the NFL can get behind.

Giants got something going on with Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo.

I’m a Jets fan unfortunately so I was watching the hockey game. I managed to get Skattebo (and Egbuka!) in my dynasty rookie draft though, so I can have some of the fun.

Egbuka looks like he’s a keeper, really going to be something down the road. Skattebo looks great right now, but not sure how long his body will endure the violence with which he runs.

I envy you the chance to play dynasty. I have not been able to do that, unfortunately.

Do you have a group of irl friends in this league, or have you found a website that hosts/administers come-as-you-are dynasty leagues? Sleeper? ESPN? ?

Yeah I was wondering about that. Anyway his dynasty value is now above some of the guys who went ahead of him (and who I would have picked if I had the chance, ha) so I’ll take it.

Dynasty is a lot of fun. I’m friends with the admin, it’s some people I know and other of his friends in there. I wouldn’t invest effort playing in a pickup league, it’s way too hard to keep going over time. Try to get some of your friends together! We use Fantrax which is a good platform for dynasty.

Fantrax, good to know, thanks for that. :+1:

I think fantasy is going to evolve from a borderline NFL-nerd social gathering to an activity dominated by gambling, will likely die out due to how easy prop bets are to make now. Probably sooner rather than later.

I still like my nerdy fantasy play anyway. I like the idea of playing against all comers in pay-in public leagues on sites like Yahoo, but options regarding types of leagues are limited and a little boring because of it.

The gambling aspect of it is huge for sure. Gambling in general is getting pretty stupid here with all the TV ads and stuff, I’m expecting the backlash and lawsuits phase to start before long. I haven’t dipped my toe in with fantasy, I find it fun enough playing for the small buyin.

NFL Referees Accused Of ā€˜Rigging’ Two Games On Sunday

The only call I have issue with is the fumble by Hurts. It looks like his knees were off the ground (so ball is in play), Thibodeaux ripped it out when Hurts extended the ball, and then recovered it before the whistle. Looks like a blown call. I read that the league has access to gambling data (don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll use that access for the good of the game  ) and (hopefully) can determine any unusual betting around the event.

The other 3 were not a big deal imo. Giants receiver pushed off the hip of Philly #27, that’s going to be called offensive PI all day.

The game is already choking on lawyerly talks between the on-field refs and the NFL in Manhattan. Was it a catch? Was there PI? Ad infinitum. Ad nauseam.

Just play, NFL.

Gambling is going to kill live sports, and maybe even pro sports altogether. Ads all over the place, apps instead of bookies, endorsed by the league, etc. What do they honestly think will NOT happen?

It’s nuts now. I expect the blowback and lawsuit phase to start soon

Yeah bound to be problems. The NBA may go away or become the bball version of the WWE where every team is a version of the Globetrotters.

Also, the Cosa Nostra? Wtf?! I thought those guys went away with 9/11 and The Sopranos.

haha, saw Monday game. Kicker missed the ball, odd kick could be fixed?

For whatever reason, it seems like most NFL kickers go off their rocker after a few years and get the football equivalent of the yips. Koo doesn’t seem to be an exception.

After seven seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, Koo hurt his hip late in 2024 and went on injured reserve. The injury may have shortened his career. He missed a short field goal in week 1 this season (making it would have won the game for Atlanta) and Atlanta brought in a new kicker. Koo sat the bench in week 2. In week 3 Koo was cut from the roster; 4 days later he was signed by the NY Giants.

I have no idea what happened last night. I’m with the announcers: I’ve never seen that happen before, to any kicker. A lingering hip injury as the reason seems implausible. He just hit it fat. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s cut by the Giants sometime this week. His career may be at its end.

I guess he just took a bad step. Pretty unthinkable. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s done for the year, but he still could come back if he gets his head on straight. Teams are always trying out kickers
