I’ve seen only one Taipei tree frog, and it was this year. Where did you see those?

As for tiny frogs, i saw some like that one but smaller, a bunch of them, somewhere in Yilan or Hualien… hard to remember where, but it was in the East side almost for sure.

Hansioux, where abouts was that? I’ve wanted to find those for a while, no luck yet.

Madmasala. These are a bit different than the Taipei species, much more common. The tree frogs are in my irrigation tanks at my farm. The others were about 2km away in a river, Taidong.

One day I was walking (in my thongs) and I felt something soft and squishy on my foot. I looked down in slight worry and it was a leaf. But huh… leaves don’t feel like that… Then it hopped away. I think it was the frog in the second picture

No one is going to get past the fact you were in a thong, whole frog story is in one ear out the other after that…

ThongS - I had two of them on

Saw that one at 滿月園. It’s in New Taipei City, but rather close to Taoyuan as well.

It was clinging to a moss covered rockface that’s dripping wet.

These are living in our vivarium temporarily until we finish relocating our water containers at the farm, these were filtered out when we drained them

When I stay on the east coast , which ones make the unholy racket all night ? Is there a specific bullfrog ?

Not specific enough. Where were they?

Particularly noisy ones are

Fejervarya

Rhacophorus moltrechti

Duttaphrynus

Here are some of the calls for taiwans species if interested

Noisiest were just outside Dawu in the hills. A little like the 6th down on the recording list

In toroko. The toads up north are WAY different color forms than down south, despite what the social media mavericks claim about breeding season. Its quite beautiful up here as far as morphs go!

Hi Kyle!

Buergeria japonica. What a great little frog that is!
