Hello guys, I’m a Taiwanese girl and I found here recently.
My company is planning to make an English website of movie information like Yahoo!Movie USA, but all the time and content are from Taiwan’s theaters!
Well so if there’s such a website will you guys surf and look up for movie information? As I know, there’s no portal website for movie in English in Taiwan.
Here’s our website now! We’re preparing for the English version and hope you will like it and use it 17movie.com.tw facebook.com/17movie
You can just google “movie tickets”…there are plenty of them. Do some research.

This is how tw design their websites. It’s no different from gohappy.com.tw and pchome.com.tw but then I’m a true novice when it comes to web design.

I think you should go for it. Right, there is not single internet location to find movie information in english so foreigners must use a variety of websites to find the movie information that they are looking for but there is not one place for someone that speaks english to find movie information for Taiwan. Definitely a good opportunity and it could get bigger in the future by providing more types of information.
Also, consider not only internet buy mobile applications like iPhone, android, and windows phone.
If you really want to make a quality web site, then I recommend you to hire a professional translator. Chrome/Google translation is awful. It barely gets the gist across.
I’m sure there are plenty of people here on Forumosa that would kindly offer their services in exchange for some fair compensation. You can take into account their English expertise minus their possibly mediocre Chinese language skills. And then come up with a final fair price for their services. But if you should happen to find a person who is fluent in both Chinese and English, then you’d probably get a better translation.
Also I suggest you hire a web designer to help you layout your website in a more appealing manner. If you want to make a site that people will want to use, then spending some extra money on improving your web site layout will be worth it in the long run. Plus you will only have to pay the web designer once to help create the templates. Don’t cut corners. You’ll be glad you didn’t.
