And the final Cylon is

very good article…

I can’t wait for the final 10 episodes
Watched the first 10 of season 4 last weekend

The guy that wrote the article probably spent more time on it than the writers of that show have spent actually writing the show.

Yeah, he has way too much time on his hands. Then he gets all bent out of shape when people call him on an erroneous quote.

Where did you find the first 10 episodes?

Actually that’s not what I mean. The BSG writers basically wing it. They don’t have a long term plan, they write a bunch of episodes all at the same time, or more likely tell a pool of lesser writers to do so. Sometimes they put hooks in to hang stuff off later “The Cylons have a plan!” but most episodes are pure filler with no links to past or future episodes. They’re like that because they were written by some writer who didn’t need to be briefed on what’s going on.

Even the episodes that do advance the plot do it in a very haphazard way and don’t frankly make much sense. It’s all about creating drama, not about telling a coherent story. If they can find a dramatic way to hang stuff off one of the hooks they do so, if not they don’t. What was that Cylon plan by the way? Seems like there never was one. Just like the truth was never “out there” in the X files, because there was no plot arc spanning all the series. This is disposable TV, 90% of the episodes are filler and it is planned one series at a time as the network buys them. And they’re written by a load of people, so it’s hard to have long running arcs.

So trying to analyze the plot in this much detail is pointless as there just isn’t that much information or consistency there. In fact once you peak beneath the shiny surface there really isn’t much there at all.
