AnimalsTaiwan Grand Opening

Dear Animals Taiwan Supporter,

It’s been 5 months now since our grand meeting on 29th March, 2008, and I’m proud and happy to share with you that Animals Taiwan has made great progress since that time: we’re now legally registered as a national non-profit association under Taiwan’s Ministry of the Interior; we’ve set up in Animals Taiwan’s name a post-office, bank, and PayPal account for receiving donations; we’ve designed and printed an official tax receipt so that donors can take advantage of our tax-deductible status—effective as of today, you can expect to receive this receipt, if requested, within two weeks of making a donation. Also, we have designed and printed a brand-new brochure to promote the organization and our goals.

One of Animals Taiwan’s short-term goals is to more effectively provide emergency rescue to those animals most in need of medical help, and to care for them in a safe and healthy environment until we can find them loving, lifelong homes; another is to implement highly effective education and neutering campaigns, so that we can tackle the stray problem at its very root. For the long-term, Animals Taiwan will continue to promote throughout Taiwan a greater awareness of animal-related issues and more compassion towards our fellow beings, by establishing a highly conspicuous and nationwide presence.

Before achieving all this, we first need to reassure you, our valued supporter, that we use your donations wisely and effectively, to provide a high-quality service—to that effect, we have greatly improved the Animals Taiwan Rescue Centre, by carrying out some much needed renovations, taking on new staff, and implementing more efficient and effective procedures. Currently, we’re caring for more than 70 animals at the centre, including 11 puppies and 10 cats and kittens—each one with a remarkable story to tell—and we’re enjoying a greatly improved adoption rate.

To celebrate our accomplishments so far and to thank you for your valued support, we’ll have an official opening party on Saturday, 18th October, exclusively for you. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. RSVP to Rita Cheng, from our Board of Supervisors, at 0932-016149; also to Alice Chen, one of our volunteers, at 0955-935935, no later than 13th October. I look forward to welcoming you and introducing you to some of our amazing dogs and cats
