Warning to those that dont like “bugs”…this thread is essentially about woms and leeches in Taiwan.

There are some truly cool worms here. Have a few pics of the giant ones but nothing good. You guys that get out walking and hiking must see a ton!

Good news, they are aquatic. And they prefer snails over mammals. I don’t keep mammilian parasites, naturally :slight_smile:

So you feed them snails?

I got a leech stuck to me once. I picked it up, idk why.

Two months ago, my buddy was hiking in the 九芎根山 area in Pinglin and came across this beast, still alive. Biggest worm he (and I) ever saw.

Whoa, thats the legit size, no trickery? Ive always heard of giant worms but never one over about 45cm. That that thing is massive!! Gives australias a run for its money…
