Annette Lu vs. A-mei

Does Lu really have to say something dumb every single day? Is she trying to break some record?

The only thing remaining is for her to go off on a Cheney-inspired cuss-fest and tell some unoffending LY member to go eff himself.

Some things are more important than money, or have you been here too long already? Oh wait, I forgot you are lawyer, so you wouldn’t understand!

I think what Vice President Lu said was somewhat warranted. A-mei shouldn’t play kiss ass to the PRC Commies for the bucks, she should have higher morals than that. She could have said something, anything instead of being so accommodating.

WTF? She’s a singer, not a nun. If there were some kind of ban on tienshang then maybe, but if some stupid bitch in the gubmint suggests that I curtail my career while all the while that same gubmint provides incentives for businessmen to rake in the cash off the commie workers, then FUCK her.

Sandman, no one in the Taiwan government is giving incentives to Taiwanese to invest in China. On the contrary, they are saying to avoid China and invest in SE Asia instead.

BTW< just because you are a 'ho doesn’t mean A-mei should be one too. I know if you had to kiss some Hu Jintao butt and say that Democracy sucks for a big gig with your sax in the Communist Workers Stadium in Beijing, then I am sure you would do that!

She ain’t got to be a nun and no one told her to be one. So it’s entirely her freedom if she wants to lick the commie’s ass for fun on their national television. But don’t come home and cry about it as it’s OUR fault that she got bitchslapped by their propagganda shits.

If she feels that shameful that she sang the national anthem then she can shut the hell up too. I mean, I know it’s ironic that many DPP supporters hates to sing the KMT anthem, but man, when the commies tells you not to do something then we know we better do it. We should keep that tradition alive.

A-Mei supporters shouldn’t be whining too because our government is in fact still planning to give her loads of money on advertisements. We ain’t suppressing her, are we? We just want to run our mouth off, that’s all.

Oh really? How about governement-funded schools for tianshang kids, just right off the top of my head. A quick google would surely bring up many more breaks.

Fuck you with your name calling. You don’t know shit about me.

Hey Sandman, I was totally joking, I was not serious, but now I am seriously calling you an asshole. I thought you had a sense of humor.

Asshole I can live with. But don’t call me a whore – that’s far too close to the bone. Sorry for jumping on you like that.

:ohreally: If a whore’s not close to the bone she’s doing something wrong. Ba da bing.

Cheap shots about lawyers don’t bother me. But you may have formed a wrong impression about me. I see absolutely nothing wrong with A-Mei singing in China, but I would be extremely opposed to her going along with any PRC game-playing.

I know first-hand what it’s like, as my boss and I were recently invited to attend an upcoming international conference abroad, which is aimed at promoting international cooperation and communication in an effort to help solve a major global problem, but the PRC contingent contacted the organizers and told them we must be identified as being from either “Taiwan, China” or “Chinese Taipei.” That bothered me greatly. Not only are those titles false and degrading, but the PRC people have no business telling us what to call ourselves. Moreover, rather than attend the conference as everyone else is doing, in the spirit of cooperation, the PRC people are being extremely confrontational right from the start and obviously see the event only as a political game and not as the positive opporturtunity that it was intended to be. Rather than give in to the PRC’s demeaning power trip, I have communicated extensively with the organizers trying to find another solution (going by Taiwan; ROC; or just Taipei). The matter’s not decided yet, but I am strongly opposed to accepting these kinds of PRC tactics.

In the case of A-Mei, I wasn’t aware of any such demeaning tactics that she had to accept (although now that I think of it, it’s probably inevitable). I was just saying there’s nothing wrong with her singing in China.

The problem was with other aspects of the whole event.

But she did! She totally played into their hands. That’s what people found so degrading. I mean, we understand her difficulties and all of that, who doesn’t?

Is Lu on a rampage against A-mei because she’s an aboriginal? If Lu goes through with her plans of sending all the aboriginals to South America, won’t that leave Taiwan a “pure” Chinese society?

What’s Lu been smoking lately?

Steve101, please spell out to me precisely what it was that Ah-Mei did, that was wrong (with sources).

I have it on good authority that she has been diagnosed with terminal athlete’s tongue :fume:

I wonder when Lu is going to admit to being a racist piglet (calling her a pig would give her far too much face).

Can someone take me back in time and explain how Lu was selected out of the entire DPP party to be the VP candidate?

I believe the logic must have been “If we give in and give her the job she’s demanding, maybe she’ll shut up.”

The uproar isn’t over her singing in Beijing, or an alleged kow-tow to get the gig.

The problem was that she said in an interview afterwards that she was singing Chinese songs and identified herself as Chinese.

This is the problem among Taidu circles, it is simply because she identified herself as Chinese while they would like to think of themselves as “Taiwanese”.

Anyone here is free to call themselves whatever they like without interference. I’m telling you again, you know nothing about Taiwan, so until you’ve been here yourself, butt out.
Oh and BTW, I think you’re a cowardly wanker for refusing to answer a straight question.
