The Taipei City Government’s 2012 Taipei Bloom Art is due to impress too, said organizers yesterday, during a publicity event at the Yuanshan Expo (圓山爭艷館).
The show is split into 10 mini programs that will span 107 days. Every program is intricately conceived as a merger of artistry, technology, and the top horticulture from around the nation.
“New Year’s Floral Celebration” (花慶元旦), which runs this Dec. 24 to Jan. 8, 2012, is an indoor spectacle of flowers cunningly cut to resemble popped fireworks. The latest in sound technology delivers some highly realistic snaps and crackles, while a laser light show promises to make this grand opener explosive.
“Underwater World” (海底世界) takes visitors to the deep sea of Disney’s Ariel, while “Traditional Moon Lute” (國樂月琴) is a museum of classic Chinese poetry and song.
Other program themes include “Enchantment World” (魔法世界), “Beijing Opera” (京劇), “Flowers and Myth” (花與神話) and “Dance of the Orchid and Butterfly” (蘭蝶共舞).
The 2012 Taipei Bloom Art takes place from Dec. 24 to April 8, 2012, daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
