There were other leaders, smarter, less extreme. Guess who aided in kicking them out of power? Also, there are the ones who wanted dialogue when the war raged on and were conveniently eliminated… or at least there were attempts to do it, not by their own people.

I wouldn’t call them smarter if they got eliminated. Although I guess it depends on your definition of smart.
