Any animal refugees need a ride to San Francisco?

I know it’s late notice but here’s the story… we’d already signed up to take 6 stray puppies from Taiwan to the US to be adopted by animal lovers there… It was the usual case of we just pick them up at CKS airport, sign for them, and drop them off with the folks on the other side, paperwork taken care of… but at the last minute the folks here in TW who were arranging the transfer here have been told by United Airlines that 6 puppies is too many since they already have cats booked on that flight, blah blah, regulations, blah blah, red tape etc… I’m unclear on the details but somehow, sadly, the whole thing has fallen through…

So, the flight is TPE - SFO direct leaving Monday 4th at noon… If that’s in any way workable we’d be glad to take any animal refugees who’ve got their paperwork in order…

Do they need to literally be animals or can they just be very uncultured humans?

Some humans admire Canine American culture for example, would you let them in?

If I understand you correctly, then you cannot take ANY animals on that flight. There is a limit to how many animals are allowed on board. You can check again with UA, but I think they do not allow crated pets in the cabin on a transpacific flight, and the limit was 6 or something in the bulk. This covers even birds. So if it is not the TW guys fault -unless there is something else wrong with their paperwork.

Once upon a time, when I was working as ground personnel, we had a lady traveling with 6 cannaries, 2 in each cage -if I remember correctly. We told her she couldn’t take them all with her on board, and that 4 had to go below. The flight was delayed, so we took them indoors, as it was summer. I had to take care of other stuff while they closed the door of the plane, and when I came back downstairs… oops, the birdies were still there. The plane was already at the end of the runway, ready to turn around and take off. End of the story: the manager took birdies home to be fed, and they flew home the next day.

What did he feed them? Steroids?

Ouch!

EDIT:

The manager took the birdies home to be fed and they were put, in their cages, on the next flight out.

(Man, I outta learn to edit, especially with these guys)
