Are there any good trail for trail running near / around Taichung?
I started life in Taichung few weeks ago and found hard to find good trail by myself.
If I get to the route by buses or by bike, it would be really appreciated because I’m not allowed to drive a car here in Taiwan.
Any information of website, forum or running clubs featuring marathon/trail run, are also very helpful for me. Thanks!!
Up in Dakeng, maybe? Also, try the Taichung Hash group (i’ve heard there’s one), and run with them for a while, even if hashing is not your thing.

There are trail races in and around Taipei all year (Xizhi, Neihu, Yangmingshan), & we just held a 12km race down here in Hualien.

Thank you, Nuit. Dakeng looks really nice even thought it’s far from Taichung a little. Maybe it’s one of "must"s! And thank you for advices. Hash is totally new for me, but it sounds like a good chance to get to know local runners. I will check!
Sorry Nuit, I misunderstood it is different one. Today I rode bicycle and accidentaly found the area, and found it’s very close to the center of Taichung!! Today I didn’t have time but next time I’ll try route 1~4 first. I hope there’s some part which I can run!

Mmm, I’m not sure you can run those trials. There’s a lot of steep climbing, if I remember. But I was hoping there’d be somewhere around there that you can run…
