Anybody know how to make Pandora work in Taiwan?

I used to enjoy listening to this Internet radio station very much in the States, but when I got to TW I found it was blocked due to “country restrictions” or something like that. Anybody know a way around this?

That way to the Pandora servers your computer looks like it is within the United States. I use a proxy server in order to get around Pandora’s block as well as all US radio stations owed by lousy Clear Channel Communications which also blocks their stations’ Internet streaming.

note: This should be posted in the technology thread, not Arts and Entertainment.

Thanks!

I use Hide The IP plus the premium high-speed service along with Internet Explorer (it doesn’t work with all browsers.)

This also allows me to use Netflix because I also use a friend’s US address.

PM me for more details.

Done.

Hotspot shield works for me…there could be a limit on usage per month though? I don’t use it a lot (just for looking for new music here and there) but it definitely works…once installed you just log in from your taskbar and that’s that.

The easier solution is use Grooveshark instead.

I love Pandora but since I can’t be bothered to look up a proxy and enter it into my browser, Grooveshark is my new source of noise. Thanks mabagal.

I thought www.hidemyass.com was going to do the trick as it allowed me to access my Pandora account but music wouldn’t stream through it for me.

Yes, it’s called Last.fm.

Does anyone know if Pandora will work as a blackberry app here? Or is that blocked as well?

For all that country restriction stuff I use hotspot shield and it works pretty well for free.

This is my fave alternative:

Hide My Ass works for me from a Mac and from my old Iphone, but I can’e even get Pandora installed on my Samsung Galaxy II Plus or get VPN working wither.

I use WiTopia…with it I can access Pandora, Netflix and MagicJack from anywhere. It’s reliable but costs $69 a year.

I just signed up for a month with overplay.net and changed the VPN to Australia and it works great. I can now watch ABC without problems, it’s really fast and just USD9.99 per month and a bit cheaper when u pay for more in advance. They also offer a 48H money back guarantee if you don’t like, or a free test account to a us server if you ask them.
