breaking news
I’m still going to wait until official confirmation before I begin my victory dance.
fine. wait until nov 27th if that suits ya. i’ll be down in clarksdale, mississippi enjoying the blues with mr. tater and the gang by sundown.
Go ahead and dance. Looks like a done deal. This is a major disappointment to me, but onward. No use crying over spilled milk eh? The loss of the Senate is a big deal. That is a real and true victory for the Democrats so congratulations on that.
Happy though I am, it is a negative victory, won because people voted against jingoistic arrogance, not for a particular better vision and program. Nonetheless, when you’re moving in the wrong direction, even stopping to take your bearings is a positive development.
Glad you feel that way and I will treat you with all the respect and courtesy that you deserve and which you so kindly offered to others ever since the Shrub was elected.

It’s good to see the U.S. political system still works and Americans aren’t all a bunch of idiots.

Maybe I can return the States some day after all.
Somebody needs to go down to Tainan and check on Cowboy. I’m worried about him. This all might have been too much for him to bear.
A victory by Webb would put the new Senate lineup at 49 Democrats, 49 Republicans and two independents – Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Joe Lieberman of Connecticut – who have said they would caucus with the Democrats.
That would give the Democrats the 51 votes they need to claim a majority for the first time since 2002.
(CNN)
Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Whose gonna party?
Having the privilege of listening to both these guys’ commercials repeatedly I thought they were both full of it. Still, a couple years of having Congress and the pres represented by opposing parties for a few years could turn out to be a good thing.
