This is not so much saying “buy it from Apple”. I’m pretty sure they expect their users would have found other ways by now.
This is Apple proclaiming they made it to the moon. And broadcasting the event live.

They go ahead with this plan, they can certainly forget about our family buying any more Apple products. Apple updates already fuq up old phones/iPads that can’t download new Apps.
My smartphone is Android from across the strait and has worked beautifully over the last 3 years. Chromebooks are getting up there in terms of quality.
Can no longer watch or rent movies from Apple on Google devices.

There are a few big reasons iphones don’t come with large memory. Apple wants you to join their cloud service to get monthly subscription fees and to lock you more into their closed eco-system.
Big Apple doesn’t innovate any longer so its business model is involuntary servitude for life on its digital plantation.
Which is quite sad considering they basically invented most of the tech we use today. Only it’s been 15+ years since that happened.

Apple’s strength has always been in taking ideas that other companies came up with, then marketing the hell out of them.
LG was first with a touchscreen phone.
Apple isn’t inventing tech. They are marketing tech.
A lot of things that show up on an iPhone already been on Android for a couple years. IPhone users don’t know they just think it’s new and no one else has it because they haven’t tried anything else.
apple neither invented most or the tech we use today, not just markets the crap out of others inventions. They don’t have a whole lot of basic tech inventions, but they’ve refined plenty of technologies to be much better, and certainly have pushed tech along.

They might have built the first ones as an OEM, but I doubt they were first with a design under their own brand.
The Palm Pilot seems to be forgotten. I had numerous PDAs with VoIP long before cellphones became popular. The move from resistive to capacitive touch was inevitable as tech improved.
How about just telling us what phone you’re talking about? 
If I recall correctly he mentioned htc was the first but I would have to watch the vid again
