Hi All,
Some background information on my current situation. I am an Indonesian who has been staying in Singapore for over 20 Years. I got married to a Taiwanese in Singapore and we are looking to move to Taiwan permanently therefore I am looking at applying JFRV so I can stay and work in Taiwan. My marriage is legal in Taiwan and my name had been added to my wife’s identity card and household registration but we are still facing problems applying the visa.
We apply the visa in Singapore as its where I am based at with the relevant documents. But the Taiwan office in Singapore says that they will be only able to issue me a Non Extendable visitor visa as I am still holding an Indonesia passport. I need to get Indonesia Non Criminal record & Marriage cert legalize by Indo(Jakarta) Taiwan office then they will be able to issue me an extendable Visitor visa.
Its not really convenient for me to travel to Jakarta now due to current pandemic so I engage an agent to assist me. Non criminal had been legalize but for them to legalize the marriage certificate Indo Taiwan office request documents which I will have problem acquiring. Eg Update Identity card and updated Indonesia household registration.
So I am wondering if I am to travel to Taiwan with a non Extendable visitor visa and with relevant documents from Singapore and after my quarantine if me and my wife are to visit NIA or BOCA to plead for our case and explain our situation will they be able to issue me a new visa and ultimately a JFRV? I am sorry for the wall of text but I am really at a loss here.
