Now, to put another twist on the discussion, what do you red-blooded fellows do when you’re escorting your fine elfin ingenue around town, only to encounter an endless procession of middle-aged lechers staring at her, eyes locked on the adornments of her upper torso? I’m usually good for a dozen or so hateful return glares before I finally lose it and shout: “What the fuck are you looking at?” Usually, the scumbag will stare at me for a moment as we walk past, and nothing else comes of it. However, I’ve had to do battle twice as a result of my response, most recently in a mall in southern Taiwan, where I barely made it out of the store and into a taxi, ahead of security personnel, after throwing a particularly egregious offender to the ground (I did make an attempt to discuss the matter, but the slimeball got in my face rather quickly). I am aware that my response is belligerent, but I also feel that staring at my girlfriend’s breasts for an extended period of time, and without the slightest attempt at subtlety, is an offensive gesture, one which deserves a response.
I’ve escorted hot women back home, but the looks are always polite, and cursory. Certainly, there is no such focus on one particular body part. Here, these drooling perverts with their up-and-down, locked gazes are beyond anything I’ve ever encountered, in any country.

I’d forgotten what having students like tmwc’s could be like until last night. We were wrapping up the lesson with a vocab exercise where the word you say must beging with the last letter of the word said by the person before you, ie. door, rain, neat, etc. When it would get to one rather attractive woman in particular, she would usually hesitate, and give a simple answer. Yet in the second to last round, when the person before her said ‘parallel’, she looked straight at me and with no hesitation and in a rather forceful voice said ‘lover!’. In the last round, the person before her said ‘fuchsia’, and in the same manner as before, the woman said 'available!". While her physical attributes don’t stack up to my wife’s, and even if they did it wouldn’t matter, I will say it was a nice ego boost.

I’ve traveled many Asian countries, Europe, etc. This is soly based on my narrow observation, but I found many British (I’ve only been to London), Canadian, Italian, Norwegian dudes very attractive and when it comes to gals, Korean, French, Swedish and Norwegian women were beautiful, stylish and mysterious…I do not find Taiwanese or Hong Kong girls hot AT ALL…how can I describe, maybe some girls are hello-kittish cute.
This is just my opinion and I indeed think beauty is in the eyes of a beholder.
Some of them are gorgeous enough, but most of them have rather dumpy bodies and pancake-like faces. For me, there are far more eye-catching lovelies here in Taiwan.
In my opinion, Taiwan provides the richest feast of beautiful Asian women while France provides the richest feast of beautiful Western women.

In fact, it was quite by chance that I ended up living here in Taiwan rather than Thailand. No, no – not because I confused their names! I’d been very keen on learning Thai (such a beautiful language) while I was there, and was getting on fairly well with it. When I went back to England to pursue my career as a barrister, I wanted to enrol in a class to continue studying Thai in the evenings, but there just weren’t any classes available in those days (I bet there are dozens of them now). As I was also very interested in Chinese, I opted instead for a beginner’s class in Mandarin – which hooked me even more than the Thai, and eventually led to my “interrupting” the legal career to study in Taiwan for a couple of years. And 17 years later, here I still am.
