ARC after Graduation + Working

Hello everyone,

I am a Master’s student who will graduate soon. I have applied for some positions in Taipei. I have some concerns about my ARC after graduation; therefore, I would like to ask for suggestions.

As ARC (Study purpose) will expire on August 2019; however, I will graduate in January 2019. So, I will have around 6 months left at least.

In case I land a job, it will start around the middle of January. So, my questions are:

  • Do I need to reapply for ARC extension after my graduation immediately?

  • Is it possible to just wait for a company to get me a work permit (while using the old ARC), then I apply for a new ARC (working purpose) later?

Thank you in advance,

yes.

(8) If you apply to leave the school (suspension, withdrawal, and graduation), your ARC with the purpose of study will become invalid after you complete the related school-leaving procedure. You shall return the ARC to the service center of National Immigration Agency in your local residence and leave Taiwan within the prescribed period. If you would like to return to NTU after the suspension is over, you will need to re-apply a new visa to enter Taiwan.

(5) Graduates seeking employment in Taiwan are required to provide a graduation certificate to extend their period of stay. The maximum extension is six months, starting from the month of graduation. If students have postponed their graduation, they are required to provide documentation to keep or extend their ARC. Students will be granted a maximum extension of one year, according to their academic situation.
