ARC expiring - travelling abroad

going home in December, coming back January 4th.
ARC is expiring January 30th.

Simple question, what to do ?
Will they let me in back to TW with just little over 3 weeks left ?

Would it be better to apply for a new ARC already before
leaving Taiwan ?

How much time will the immigration need to issue a new ARC-Card ?

Please don’t tell me to inquiry about this in person, because I
indeed will do so - but before that, I am interested in your opinions
regarding this (little) matter.

I’ll potentially be facing a similar situation in October, unless my employer cancels my contract/ARC when I leave at the end of July. (They were not sure if they would or not, depending on whether they needed the slot.) I pass back through here on my way for a visit back to the US. Not quite sure which documentation and status to enter/exit.

You will have no problem. That’s a whole 26 days before expiration!

They don’t care how much time is left, all they care about is that it’s still valid. I have been let in at 9 pm on Friday night the day before my ARC expired. So 3 hours before expiration and a guaranteed overstay (no way to get an extension on a Friday night!). I have had 3 ARCs expire, and for every one I entered Taiwan within a week or two before expiration. This year I will enter 6 days before my ARC expires.

This is not a problem at all.
