ARC problem: From Teacher to Student or not

Due to a sudden change of schedule and pay, I have decided to quit my job. As of Jan 1 I will no longer work for the school that provided me with my ARC. I’m looking for a new job, but am not sure if I should get my ARC through another school, or finally start the Chinese lessons I’ve been procrastinating and apply as a student. Can someone please give me some advice? Also if I do it as a studant, can I still work part-time?

If the information I have is correct, you can not teach legally for the first year of a student visa. After one year, you can work up to a maximum of 12 hours a week. I guess the only question is, do you want to work legally or illegally? Best of luck. :slight_smile:
