Are 23mm the standard road bike size

Here in Vietnam and in Thailand all the local dealers look baffled when i ask for 25mm anything. They only have 23mm, even the top quality stores. Is this a general trend worldwide excepting taiwan? Are 23 mm the default road bike tire?

23mm used to be “the pro” choice, then new studies proved that 25mm offer better rolling resistance and comfort, so in the last few years every major tyre make started to focus on 25mm.
I’d say Thailand and Vietnam are a bit behind.

Good answer, thanks.

Spot on answer.

I’ll add that about 6-8 months ago when I changed my tires, there were only one or two stores in the city (that I came across) had 25mm tires. Now almost all of them have 25mm now. What I hear is 25mm in the back and 23mm in the front is the new trend.

i cant even find 19 mm anywhere now.

yes, 25 is the new black, and 23 is the new front.

That’s what she said. :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy:
