Are bank deposits insured in Taiwan?

Sorry if this topic already exist somewhere on this forum I couldn’t find it
I was wondering if Taiwan banks has Deposits Insurance similar to banks in US where all deposits up to $100 000 USD insured by FDIC.
I called my Megabank but after talking to 5 different people (in english) they couldn’t comprehend what I am talking about. Something like to explaining member of Sub-Saharan nation how it feels to hold snowball

google “Taiwan deposit insurance system” and click on first link in english.

Thank you.
Its up to 3 million NT per deposit per depositor

thats similar to 100,000 USD. MUst have picked that up from Uncle Sam ?

I know what my bank pickup from Uncle Sam: They are USA Patriot Act certified :sunglasses:

Thank you.

Note that the U.S. insurance is not per deposit but is per bank. Thus, even if you have multiple 100,000 U.S. accounts in the same bank, you are at risk. Open accounts in multiple banks but make sure they are not affiliated. As I understand it, Taiwan is the same. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Does anyone know if 3M NTD still the Taiwan bank deposit insurance limit nowadays?

Yes, still the same: 3M NTD per depositor per insured institution.
