Are banks open saturdays in taipei?

Been here a while but never to a bank on a Saturday, are they open on the weekends??

Some branches of ChinaTrust are open on Saturdays.

The one on Zhongxiao, between Fuxing and Tunhua, (near where the old Tower records used to be), is open, if memory serves.

i’ve had accounts at Bank of Taiwan and HSBC; they don’t open on Saturdays. I used to have one at ChangHwa; I seem to recall that they didn’t either, but I may be wrong. Saturday opening is not usual, afaik.

When it is one of those funny ‘make up a holiday that isn’t really a holiday’ days, some banks are open on that following Saturday

It pinyinified my typing. They don’t spell it like that! It’s a name, damn it! I know how to use pinyin when it is appropriate to do so. Arrrr!

ChinaTrust in Changhua is open 9am-7pm Monday-Saturday. If a bank in a small city can open those hours, banks in Taipei should be able to do it.

If that is so, then the Chinatrust web site is highly unreliable. It says its only branch open on weekends is the one on the 5th floor of the Taipei 101 shopping mall, 11 am to 7 pm seven days a week.
But it’s only a ‘mini’ branch, so I’m not sure what you can do there.

Sunday morning I walked past the HSBC on the corner of Nanjing East and Jianguo North. Was also open all weekend, but since it’s a foreign bank, I don’t know if it offers all the services you get from a local bank.
