Hi!
I have a question regading NPO/NGO: are these organizations considered as “normal” business - ie the process of starting one NPO/NGO is exactly the same as any other business - or is it somewhat different?
In UK or USA it’s fairly similar to any other business but you have to apply for a non-profit statute, but what about Taiwan?
Thanks and sorry if that message is sent to the wrong forum, I simply didn’t know where to post it

I expect it depends on the nature of the activities of the NPO/NGO. I do know that for social organizations - ie. alumni clubs - you need to demonstrate evidence that there are representatives throughout the country to qualify on a national level; some such clubs limit themselves to Taipei because they can more easily/quickly list founding membership throughout the city.
Maybe you can ask some of the accountant/lawyers who many foreigners turn to to incorporate their regular business - Joseph Ni at Good Earth or Ann Hu at Universal Law and
