My bike has a broken frame – don’t know what it’s officially called, but it’s the steel inner chassis – and the mechanic was saying it’ll cost 8-9k to replace it. Since I’m going home at the end of the year, I’m not going to bother, if it’s really that much…
My question is, are the parts from the scooter worth removing and selling? It’s a PGO T-rex 150, about 6 or 7 years old. The one part I’m specifically thinking about is the carburetor, which we just replaced that a couple months ago and cost ~6k new. Are there any other parts that are salvageable? And where can I sell them, on Yahoo?
Well, I’d think the whole engine would be the easiest thing to sell, followed by the front end.
I had a friend who had a PGO with the dodgy CDI (ignition timing box) and apparently that is a common problem with PGOs too, so that might be in demand.
What about welding the frame? How bad is it? That is what I’d be considering if it was doable.

In alot off countrys that is ilegal and also exstremly dangarous if the welder is not good at what he’s doing.
Just take it to a few shops and ask them how mutch they are willing to pay for the parts.
You bought a complete new carb for it? They can be cleaned and have there nozles changed so I doubt a total change is neaded. Shure you where not riped off?

Perhaps mechanics aren’t very keen on cleaning them though because it takes a while and labour charges are usually very low or non-existent here.
That’s my guess anyway. I’ve never actually cleaned a carburettor myself.
