Is today not a public holiday? (and tomorrow – Yay!)
My school is closed for 2 days and I have got time off. However this evening I drove past a Joy Buxiban and it had people inside. I didn’t have time to see if they were students or just the Taiwanese staff but there was a hive of activity inside the building and it seemed to be business as usual (for whoever was inside at least).
I remember noticing a similar thing at a different Buxiban on the drive back from Kending during the 228 holiday in February.

Aaaaaaahhhhhh how could I forget? And ofcourse strippers
Holidays are highly flexible in Taiwan. Outside of the white collar and government sectors you’ll find a lot of people working. If the parents of the students in a buxiban need to work, then chances are the buxiban will need to open so the kids have somewhere to go.
