Are you from North-Korea or South-Korea?

Is it strange to ask a girl “Are you from N-Korea or S-korea?”

I heard people laughing…HARD. :unamused:
Because N-Korean are not easy to be tourists …obviously.

A little naive perhaps since N Koreans can’t leave their country.

If she says “Ya’ll” and carries a watermelon under her arm she’s a South Korean.

Depends, see, if you were in Macau, that question would make absolutely perfect sense.

And by the way, there was a delegation of at least 12 North Koreans seen regularly riding the lifts and huddling downstairs for smoke breaks from an office in the Pacific Place in HK last month. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to catch who they were dealing with.

HONG KONG — North Korean leader Kim Jong Il’s eldest son has lived for the past three years in Macau, where the United States slapped sanctions on a bank for allegedly helping Pyongyang launder money, a news report said Thursday.

Kim Jong Nam, 35, has stayed in five-star hotels in the Chinese territory and has been seen in casinos and restaurants, the South China Morning Post reported, quoting unidentified sources from a six-week investigation.

The Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun published a similar report on Wednesday with a photo that allegedly showed the pudgy younger Kim outside a building in Macau.

Macau’s Government Information Bureau refused to discuss the report. South Korea’s Unification Ministry, which handles inter-Korean affairs, and the top spy agency, the National Intelligence Service, said they could not confirm the report with independent sources. [/quote]

NO.
I and my friend were in Taipei 101 observatory last summer.
There was a guy asked a girl who stood beside of him.
“Are you Taiwanese?I am from Germany.”
The girl said"no,I am korean .“and he kept asking"oh,then are you from N-Korea or S-korea?”
People stood behind of me laughed …
But I thought he maybe just a little nervous so forgot the N-korean people couldnt be here.

It’s hard for North Koreans to get into the country, having horns and all.
