Bought a new laptop last July. Late January screen went dark. LED issue, fixed at no charge as was under warranty. Now I’m out of Taiwan and it’s happened again, so need to return to Taiwan to get it repaired again. Can I demand a new computer from the ASUS dealer? What type of recourse do I have? Thanks for any advice.
Depends, it might have a worldwide warranty, check the terms of your laptop.
Not necessarily. Did you register it for warranty on the Asus site? What does it say there?
Can demand whatever you like, be highly surprised if they gave you one though!
Contact Asus and ask.
On this type of issue, I plan to buy a new laptop in the near future and was wondering if people recommend buying it in Taiwan or the USA. I figured I would buy it in Taiwan in case something broke and brand warranties weren’t globally valid but if that’s not the case, would the USA offer a better deal? Any advice appreciated.
You will not get a new computer even if you demand for it. That usually only happens within the first week to first month after purchase.
OK, Thanks for the replies. ASUS will fix it in 2 days. Woman told me that I have a worldwide warranty, so that’s good to know for later trips.
