B.C. elections

Yay! NDP won a 55-29 seat majority over the Liberals. My old riding of Coquitlam-Burke Mountain swung back NDP.
(The B.C. Liberals, like the Austraslian Liberals, are the right-wing party. They’re composed of business supporters, evangelicals from the outer Vancover suburbs/Fraser Valley, and Interior farmers, ranchers, loggers and the oil patch. NDP is urban Vancouverites, plus union-based loggers and fishermen up the coast. )

Does this mean there will still be more unfilled vacancies for teachers in British Columbia?

I wish there were alternatives to the BC Liberal-NDP dichotomy. It’s too bad the BC Conservatives, Christian Heritage, or the Libertarians can’t mount a serious challenge. Bring on democratic reform!

Every time we try, the sorry technocrats seem to be unable to explain what proportional representation actually means. People vote it down because they don’t understand and it sounds complicated at first.
