BARK: ROCKIN THE ROOF.....Saturday June 9th.....5 bands!

"Hello…so, I’m just reminding you that your plans this weekend should
involve coming to Villy’s roof to enjoy an afternoon and evening of
sun, funk, drinks, and an amazing view! The bands include a mystery
act from Tainan, Electocute (punk), Magpie (alternative rock), Wolfgang
(alternative), and The Nouveaux Shite (funky-ass funk!). It’s only
$350 to get in, and all the proceeds go to BARK, aka ATK (Animals Taiwan
Kaohsiung). Just drive past Jongshan uni beach, and make a left at the
fork in the road by the 7-11…follow the coast line, and the house is
just past the army base on the right…if you reach the Oceanview
you’ve gone too far. Come rain or shine, there will be some shelter
from the rain! Hope to see all you slaves of groovy sounds saturday!

Cheers,

Kate"

Best of luck with the event - ours was a blast. :sunglasses:

But BARK hasn’t been part of Animals Taiwan for a long time now. You may want to make that clearer in your literature.

Keep up the great work! :notworthy:

Thanks!

This was posted by a third party, not a regular volunteer. A lot of people still call us ATK, but more and more people know that we are now back to our grassroots identity; BARK.

All publications made by volunteers are strictly BARK, and have been that way for months already. It just takes time, I guess, and besides, we think our name/acronym is far better than yours. :stuck_out_tongue: So we hope that most people will soon address us as BARK.

Thanks for your patience, and understanding!

Might want to address these thoughts n your signature too.

I bet all the dogs find it way easier to address you as BARK.

I forgot to mention that I actually edited Kate’s email. I added “BARK aka…” as she did not even mention BARK.

We anticipate a pretty decent turnout at this event,(100+people) so that’s this many more people who will know us as BARK in the future.

As for my signature, as soon as we go live with the new website which will be BARKTaiwan.org, I will change the sig.

I just got my hands on the official publication. I’m happy to see that Willie got our name right.

See you there!

What an incredible event we had yesterday! Tip of the hat to Villie
and friends for such a wonderful and successful day/evening. The event
was extremely well organized, the location is perfect, and so many
people generously lifted their sleeves to help out. I was actually
amazed and moved to see so many of you helping out.

I’m not sure where to begin, we’d like to express our gratitude to so
many of you, and I’m afraid that I will forget someone. Really, there
were just too many people helping out. It was such a boost to see so
much energy and good will put to work. You guys rock!

Special thanks to Villie, of course. I can’t believe how hard you
worked. I was actually wondering when you would stop and take a break.
Your efforts and your gesture to put together this event is something
that we are short for words to thank you. The Villie’s RoofTop
Fundraiser event raised over NT$50,000 yesterday. That’s astonishing,
and rest assured that every penny will go directly to pay for the
treatment of sick and needy animals. Again, thank you, thank you, and
thank you!

Big thanks to Kate, who served drinks all day and night with such a
wonderful smile at that. And what a performance she delivered on
stage! Kate, you’re a star!

Many thanks to all the musicians for a great show; I really enjoyed
it, and from what I’ve heard, everyone really enjoyed the
performances. You were the main attraction to this event, many people
came to see you, and no one was disappointed. In fact, you left us
wanting more… What a great bunch you all are. Thank you so much.

Thanks to our regular volunteers who helped at the door. Once again
you donated your time to help, and as always, we really appreciate it.
Pauline was there all day! From now on, I’m calling her “Super Woman”

Of course, thanks to all of you who attended the event. Your
contribution is important to us, and we hope that you all had a good
time.

Finally, thanks to the good folks at KaohsiungLiving for your
continued support, for your advice, and of course for being an
integral part of BARK through your relentless efforts to bring
together the awesome people of this community. Oh, and thanks again
for the car!

On behalf of all of us at BARK, and on behalf of our furry friends,
thank you everyone.

PS: I knew I was going to forget someone… I forgot to thank the cooks,
and seeing that they stood in front of a hot BBQ all day, I really
want to add that you guys did a great job, the burgers rocked, and we
really appreciate your time and efforts, too.

Thank you!
