Come to Bliss this Friday, March 14, for what’s sure to be a night of fun and debauchery, with fine, fine musical entertainment from
Barrelhouse Fire
, Taipei’s newest underground blues band, featuring original compositions, flaming-hot keyboards, feel-good rhythms, and plenty of energy. Barrelhouse Fire explores the less traveled terrain of the blues, from ragtime to delta fingerstyle and beyond.
Joshua Graham and Brent Heinrich share lead vocal duties and switch off on guitar and bass. Virtuoso keyboard player John Vaughan doubles on harp, and also juggles. Tim “Scratch” Hogan comes on strong with percussion.
And as if that wasn’t enough,
David Chen and the Muddy Basin Ramblers
will follow them on to the bandstand to give you a dose of their inimitable jugband goodness.
It don’t mean a thing if it 'aint got that jugband swing!
This will be a night to remember!
The show starts around 10 pm. Cover charge of NT$200.
