⚾ Baseball | 2024 WBSC Premier 12 Baseball Tornament

More political than basebaall history in the video. Since it’s a Japanese video, I wish it would talk about the Tagasago Team founded in 1921, which was renamed the Nōtaka Team 3 years later.

The team was based in Hualien, and had mostly Pangcah players. It first toured Japan in 1925, winning 6 games against top Japanese high school baseball teams. Four players were invited to stay in Japan and play for Heian high school in Kyoto. 2 of them became professional players in Japan. Okamura Toshiaki (岡村俊昭) was the most successful, and played for Nankai for 11 seasons.

Many players of the Notaka team are related to well-known Aboriginal players of Pangcah descent today.
