If family and government priorities change, this would be enough to produce more sports greatness among the Han population. I know several non-aboriginal Taiwanese who ended up excelling in sports in their late 30s and early to mid 40s, but they did this using their own time and money, and well after the pressures of school were gone. Who knows what they could have done if they pursued sports starting at a much younger age.

I’m trying to find some analysis of the HRs against Korea. Can’t find any. Everything is about Shosei Togo.

Pan is Pangcah, so usually he would have a given name and a house name. Iyang is his given name.

Interestingly, Iyang is listed as a male given name for the Atayal and Truku peoples, but not as an Amis name.

Aciyang, Aliyang, and Siyang are male given names for the Kavalan people. Kusiyang, Maliyang,Samiyang, Siyang, and Usiyang are listed as Puyuma male given names. There are a couple other names that end with Iyang as well.

I wonder if that means Pan’s name is related or inspired by Atayal or Truku names, a shortened nickname for one of those longer names, or if the Council of Indigenous Peoples’ document simply failed to record Iyang as a Pangcah name.

Excellent news, after the Premier 12 championship, more parents are willing to have their kids learn baseball.
