I’ve just had a friendly debate with my boss about whether it’s legal for his school to outsource me to a local manufacturing company to teach some of their employees a couple hours per week. Personally, I don’t mind at all, and I doubt it would ever turn into a problem. The debate only came up because the company is rather paranoid and nit picky about some other rules. For example, they nearly keeled over at the thought of me teaching for one single moment until they had piggy backed onto my work permit (sponsored elsewhere).
Am I wrong about this? Speculation is welcome, but a link to the actual laws/regulations would be vastly more welcome.
thanks,
Rup
Aren’t teaching ARCs specific to a given location?
That is what I always thought, but I wanna be sure before I bet money on it with my boss. My real agenda is getting them to lighten up and let me start teaching while they process their way onto my work permit.
My private university has farmed me out to local widget companies on occasion, but it hasn’t happened for a while.
Never thought of it being illegal before but I’ll be interested to see what you find out.
This suggests it is possible:

I even learned a new word.
That’s interesting. So they can pimp us out . . .
Question:7.Can cram schools assign foreign language teachers to teach at kindergarten or pre-school? Update Date:2009/05/26
Answer:The Ministry of Education and the Child Welfare Bureau, Ministry of the Interior have homologated that it is illegal for cram schools to subcontract a foreign language teacher to teach foreign language in kindergartens or pre-schools. The employer will violate the Employment Service Act if conduct such behavior. A cram school can however sign a subcontract with individuals or organizations (not including cram schools, kindergartens, pre-schools and school) and assign the foreign language teachers employed to teach for the aforementioned individuals or organizations.
Can someone give us examples of approved organizations that cram school teachers can be subcontracted to?
