Best night life outside Taipei?

In deciding which city to spend a month in this summer, one of my considerations is the night life. Does it generally go by size of city?

What is the best scene outside taipei? (The cities I have a choice of going to are: taipei, kaoshiung, tainan, taichung, hualien)

While I like nightlife, I think I’m seeking a balance between nature and city.

If you are considering nightlife, Taipei is definitely the only choice. stay in the county such as Banchiao, Xindien since you like the nature,too…but they are still like city jungle…depands on what area of them you stay… or you can consider stay in Wulai.It’s in the mountain.
