is in yangkang jie, near the cross section of xinyi and xinsheng (hsinyi and hsinsheng). It’s on the west (?) end of the park, on the same side of huiliu. It’s made by a guy who is renowned as one of Taiwan’s best cello players.
actually,t here’s two locations, accross the street from each other.
As an indication of any great restuarant, there’s only four choices, which change daily. usually Some vegetarian options too.
i love going to the black forest german cafe to pick up some bread while i’m waiting for my order).
the price i think is 180. it comes in a very utilitarian package (take out or dine in), but it’s damn good.
No, it’s not a bad pronunciation of “Amy” but seriously, it’s Emmy. I wouldn’t call this the best pasta, but it’s new, conveniently located, and best of all, cheap. It’s on Roosevelt, right outside Exit 3 of Kuting MRT station. All entrees are $120. The salmon pasta is my pick. They also serve crepes, but I haven’t tried it. One drawback, very limited seating.
There’s a Pasta Factory in one of the Section in Dunhua.
Here’s a direction. From Xinyin road (Da’an post office) wet market. Go across the crossroad. Go straight until you see a mac donald. Turn right. Go straight for about 200 meters and you’ll see the Pasta Factory on your Left at a corner. Best Pasta I ever ate in Taiwan. Had Cello Pasta, but doesn’t taste as good as this one.
The chef is very nice. He’ll make your pasta according to your taste. Go to each table and ask how you like your pasta.
failing that i was impressed with diamond tony’s when i went last time. it’s in tienmu near the corner of chungshan n rd and tienmu w rd, on the large alley behind the welcome. had gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce last time, spot on. would have been impressed in ny. have to go back.
Maybe, this is not the BEST pasta in Taipei. But what about “Zuma’s California Kitchen” on Hopingb[/b] cross Dunhua.
They have All-You-Can-Eat!!! pasta from 2:30-5pm any day. With bread, fresh cooked. And soup. And all you can eat dessert. And, all you can eat pasta. Hey, give me another plate of the pasta.
Okay, so they only let you try two kinds of pasta on one day. and it takes 10 minutes to actually get the pasta on the table. I usually go for an hour and a half. I eat 3 bowls of pasta. A lot of bread. One glass of ice tea. All you can eat dessert (tiramisu). And it costs me $200.
I can’t go most weekdays, because I have to teach. But I go on a weekend, and there’s the same deal, all you can eat for $200. Because I eat so much there, I don’t have to eat 3 meals a day. Only two. It’s such a great place. I’m thinking I should move next door so I don’t have to walk 10 minutes from Liu Chang Lib[/b] (or Technology Building) MRT. I can’t decide which MRT stop it is closer to.
Can anyone let me know about Pizza Hut’s all you can eat???

He never asked me, but that’s okay. I am pretty regular there too…
I love their pesto chicken. Easier directions would be to say this:
Go down Si-Wei Rd. between DunHua S. Rd. and Da An Rd. (near FuXing S. Rd.) in the section between Xin Yi Rd. Sec. 4 and Ren Ai Rd. If you come from Xin Yi, it’ll be on your left after the playground. From Ren Ai it’s on your right-hand side. My only complaint is that they make the same soup every day when up the road at United Mix they make superior soups that change. Of course, it is called the Pasta Factory and not the Soup Factory.
Not too far from there, right behind Da-An MRT station on Fu Xing S. Rd. there’s a bagel shop that makes great bagel sandwiches and good pasta dishes…nothing as generous as the Pasta Factory, but good nevertheless.
For pasta, you cannot do better than L’Amico on Minsheng and Tun Hua. Go through Minsheng and take the first lane to the left. It’s down by the Xi Lai Xun.
I have heard many say Tutto Bello on Linsen No Rd by the Imperial Intercontinental (same alley as Malibu West) is good, but the atmosphere is too depressing for me.
Or try La Giara (though sometimes hit and miss) Fu Hsingb[/b] S Rd #352
Hope this helps. Whatever you do, stay away from Papa Giovanni’s (next to Zuma’s I believe). The food can sometimes be all right but the service is incredible in the psychopathic, hostile rudeness. I only see Chinese in there. Almost every foreigner I know has a horror story about that place. Don’t believe it? Ask around. You will find unanimity on that score. Seriously BAD service.

Is this place still around and is it still good?
I think I need to check it out.

I went there in July 2006 but it wasn’t to my liking.
They also have bread baskets with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. The house wine isn’t too shabby, and the seafood is always fresh and they are quite generous with the portions, for the price. Not the greatest pasta you’ll ever eat, but not at all bad for the price, to reiterate what Prince Roy said.
