Best shoot location for shooting 101 building

Hi all,
I will be back Taipei tomorrow, then I want to take some photos for Taipei 101 building and some Taiwanese living style, do you have any ideas?, thanks for all.

Tom

In my opinion, the best spot is Elephant Mountain.

Here’s an old thread that answers your question. http://www.forumosa.com/taiwan/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=22465&p=234601&hilit=taipei+101+photograph#p234601

In front of the new york new york department store. it looks like it’s going to collapse on you from there

Grab a capuccino and take some pics at Starbucks Eslite Xinyi Store! The view of 101 from there is quite exhillirating.

Yeah, you can’t go wrong with that.

 This lot want PAIN for their fotos, not the completely obvious!

Off-topic, but I used to work opposite the building, and I grew to really like it. It looks great in all sorts of light.

The best photo op (missed…) was when an old style funeral procession got stuck in traffic outside. Blue trucks full of strippers and singers and white robed folk and trad musicians, gongs, flowers, etc performing. The light was amazing; almost purple because the sun was coming out and there was a giant rainbow reflected onto 101 with the large reflection of a truck full of strippers. The expressions on their faces was beautiful; slightly cold, bored, blank.

I second the motion for Elephant mountain. A nice little hike and spectacular views of the 101 and whole city.

easier to get to and almost as good as elephant mountain is the road that goes through Fu De cemetery, starting at LiuZhangLi. It’s called Cheng De Street. much of the way along the top of 101 is visible to the left, and if you actually summon up the desire to get off your scooter, the top of the ridge is only 50 m away or less, giving you a great viewpoint looking north east.

Thirded.

But choose a clear day. The day I took this photo was somewhat hazy.

Yeah but you’ll be among the dead, so summon up not just desire but courage, especially if you want to take some night shots.

ha ha, i ride through there every night, and have seen nothing untoward apart from a few snakes. scared of an old hole in the ground?
