Best way to see Taroko and East Coast?

Hi,

I’m new to this forum and going to visit Taiwan in July/August. My question is, how can I get to Hualien from Taipei? Are there English tours that go to Taroko gorge? I am female and coming solo. I want to see the east coast. Is there a bus from Hualien to Taidong? I don’t know if I want to rent a car because I won’t be able to see much while driving.

Any advice is appreciated from those that have done it. I hear and read that this area is stunning. I’m coming from Korea and want to be able to see the natural scenery in Taiwan. Thanks,

You should pick up a copy of the Lonely Planet guide for Taiwan. It will save you a lot of stress, money and time.
