Has anyone ever modified their SYM RV 180 to a 250? My friend has and he’s been having all sorts of trouble with keeping the engine cool. It seems like the coolant system on those RV 180’s are very touchy, they need an exact amount of coolant. If it’s just a little too low, the engine over heats very easily. I figure if he had a bigger radiator, this wouldn’t be such a big problem. So I’m wondering what radiator that’s bigger would fit in there. I know on my Grand Dink 250, it has a much bigger radiator, but I’m not sure if it would fit in there. If it could fit in there, I’m not sure how hard it would be to hold it in place.
Hmm, I know my friend would like to try his luck in such a place, but both he and I have no idea where they are. Are there any junk yards around Taichung?
Its difficult to do stuff like this because in general the Taiwanese you (or at least I) are likely to be able communicate with (teachers) won’t have a clue, even if they pass 5 highly visible scrapyards every day on their way to work.
Go to Autobike in Chungli (03-433-3232) . They have a lot of experience with building custom scooters. They also speak some English and give foreigners cheaper prices than the locals.
