There are a few variations. I’ve never played with a triple. The rules could vary depending on where you are. I’ve always played where a straight flush beats four of a kind (plus a random card). Makes it interesting. But, as you know, when you’re playing with three or four players, those hands don’t get dealt to often. When you play without a triple then if you have a triple but no pair to play it with it can become a little interesting. Also, say one a player lays a card down and only has three left. If everyone passes then that player wins. This exists when the player only has a pair left. It’s more to think about, I guess. Those situations can be funny because I’ve caught myself and other players saying, “Last card” when I/they have a pair left (or a five card combo) and it gives it away.
One other rule I forgot to mention was that if, let’s say, you lay a pair down and everyone passes you can keep going with higher pairs. That’s something to think about when you’re playing. Do you do this? (eg. you lay 2 Jacks down, everyone passes and you keep going QQ, KK, AA). I’ve finished games like this. Everyone just sits there dumbfounded. I’ve also been beaten this way.
Anyway, I guess we’d have to figure out the rules first, eh.
