Bike Hire in Tainan

I am from Australia and coming to Taiwan in June 2012, and would like to hire a on-road / touring bike. I would like to hire it in Tainan, but if i can not in Taipei.
Can anyone help me find where i can hire a bike.
Thank You

matt

Giant apparently has a rental program formosaguy.blogspot.com/2008/05/ … -home.html . I’ve never used this service personally though.

How tall are you? Even if you found a rental outlet, frame sizes over 56’’ would probably not be available,
Why not bring your own bike? Airlines will carry it and it would be the easiest solution, IMO.

56" is a damn tall bike.

56 or even 54 cm is about the normal upper limit in Taiwan.

In my experience, Giant is indeed your best bet for a decent rental. As long as you are under or not much over 180cm they will probably have something that fits you. Here is contact info for the rental shops around the island. It’s from 2007 so some of the shops we’ve called aren’t in the rental program anymore, but Tainan is on there and you can give it a try.

So true but so odd. I see plenty of guys over 6 ft. here but as far as bikes go there really arent many bigger sizes available.

I also see A LOT of seatpost on bikes in Taiwan… :loco: Maybe Taiwanese dudes are more wiry and flexible than I am but I hate having a huge drop from seat to handlebars.

Back in the states, guys over 6’0 often ride 58cm +.
