I’m looking into getting my frame resprayed when I get it. Suspension bike with many links and everything. I can strip it down myself and deliver just frame and subframe with bearing surfaces covered and threads full of old bolts and cups.
The question is, where is the best place to get it done? Car body shop? Motorbike race shop? Bike shop?

finding a shop that will prepare the metal, then apply suitable primers for the metal, then a good two-pack, then dry it well, then apply decals and finally whack a decent few coats of clear over the top is not going to be easy.
or do you just want to get it powder coated for protection?
if it’s in good nick as it is and you just want some fancy colour work over the top, let’s see what this spooz guy can do.
I’m hoping to get a new frame on the cheap but I don’t like the factory spec colour or graphics. I just want a solid fluorescent yellow frame and subframe. I know a car spray shop would do a good enough job as far as colour and quality go but I wonder about how well they would get into hard to reach areas like around the bottom bracket shell. ALso I worry about them perhaps getting into my bearing housings and threaded areas a little too well. That made me think about a motorbike place. A custom job is more detail than I want and no doubt expensive!
