Bird of the Day

Yes, it’s a very happy pale-vented bulbul.

actually, probably not very happy at all, unless he manages to get off the train at the same stop he got on. they are very social birds and like to hang around with their own flock of 10-30 birds.

Visited a bird park in Germany today. One of the first birds l saw, a Mikado pheasant…

There was also this sign:

But the bird inside the cage looked different from the bird you can often see around Taipei.

Why is everything so clean?

The cage? The birds are potty-trained around here😋

OK, as my wife will tell you, I’m awful at identifying birds (this comes up surprisingly often when trying to match sightings with bird guides at home), but isn’t the zoo’s sign for a Taiwan / Formosan blue magpie (which I often see on hillsides in Danshui), rather than a Mikado pheasant?

No, the sign was on a different cage, l didn’t shoot the bird because it was in the back, and it didn’t look like a blue magpie. Sorry for being confusing… :confounded:

lol Tawny frogmouths always look grumpy.

Not sure what bird is this. Taking rest at my balcony during my WFH day.

Black-collared starling?

Most likely. They come in pair and singing to each other for a while. Really making my morning.

Wet owl…

Raven tried making the dog an ally against the cat.
