Birding in Taiwan

Just found this website. Looks good. Lots of pics and info on birds, and even birding tours. I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow at work. Looking at tits. :sunglasses:

My god! That blog has some incredible shots!

Any time I try to photograph a bird it ends up as a smudgy little black dot in the picture, whatever colour it was originally!

Thirded about that birding blog. Fantastic shots there. I wish I could do shots like that, but I’d probably need a car, a longer telephoto lens (I looked at the EXIF data and saw he’s shooting with a Nikon 600/4mm lens. Those puppies cost a mere $6000), and a hell of a lot more patience. Birders are hard-core, man.

I want to go to Yilan this weekend. I really really want to see a frigate bird!

It’s one of those fancy compact cameras that offers full manual control as well as various modes. So I managed to progress out of my “birds as black dots” stage and got this reasonable snap of something which I’m told is a heron.

here is the blog of a local bird photographer, awesome pics!
