Birds custard

WCIF Birds custard, does anyone know?

Thanks

DIY, corn starch, egg yolk (or/and yellow food color), vanilla essence …

But, you can find the powder in any DIY baking store or at least in Dihua street.

haha - this is one of the things I never fail to bring back from the UK, cos I’ve never seen it here. City Super is probably worth checking though, if you haven’t already.

But BP is right: make your own. Homemade custard is bloody amazing (CORN STARCH?! sacrilege!), especially if you use vanilla pods instead of flavouring.

Birds custard is cornstarch  but if you want to make custard, use flour and egg yolk, vanilla, milk, sugar (eventually some cream)

sure, I know bird’s custard is just cornstarch and chemicals … but real custard should be eggs, sugar and cream, no? I guess it depends how thick you like it.

Cornstarch or flour … without it would be a little to runny I guess. Creme brûlée is without.
