I looked through past threads about Blackberry being rolled out to the Taiwan market but has anybody recently purchased one? If so, what shops carry them? Has the service been good?
My new company wants me to get one but they are Hong Kong based and really left it up to me to get one here. Any info would be great - thanks
Taiwan Dageda has rolled it out already. Been using it for nearly 5 months now. No problem.
I assume that Blackberries bought here in Taiwan, using one of the phone services WON’T have global service?

The Taiwanese BBs have global service. Why wouldn’t they? So as long as you’re in a GSM network somewhere, you’re good for a connection.
could i get a BB pearl back in europe and use it here?
we checked with taiwan mobile but they only have the big bricks 8700 and 7290.
i wish i could use the smaller pearl here.

And a few questions for noobs:
How much does a Blackberry cost in Taiwan?
What’s the regular monthly service charge?
When does one have to pay extra on top of that regular monthly charge (eg., for phone calls from another country? excessive phone calls to other countries? emails from other countries? etc.)
How much extra have you paid on an expensive month (and how excessive was such use?)
Can one buy it in Taiwan with OS and everything else all in English?
Where’s a good place to buy one?
Do you get laid more often or less after acquiring the Blackberry?
I met with the Blackberry rep in July, and he answered a lot of those questions. I’m out the door now, but I’ll try to follow up later (probably tomorrow).
